Over the years, actress Genelia D’souza has garnered a huge fan following owing to her down-to-earth personality, beauty and her bond with her husband Riteish Deshmukh. After tying the knot with her hubby, she went on to give birth to their adorable sons and started taking care of them full time. Soon, reports started surfacing that her husband forced her to quit acting so that she could focus on their married life and kids.
Now, years later, in an interview, she has dismissed the claims and expressed how it was something she decided. Talking to Bollywood Bubble, she was asked if Riteish asked her to stop acting after they got married. Dismissing the claims, the 35-year-old actress explained that people often ask her why she doesn’t work anymore. Quoted by Bollywood Life, she added, “I don’t feel I can do so much work but I feel I still enjoy that whole part of being with my kids. I want to do that, I want to do this, I’ll choose when I want to do what. And the good part is that I no more look for validation like I have to be part of this banner. For the unversed, Genelia and Riteish fell in love on the sets of Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. After dating for years they tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed their sons Riaan in 2014 and Rahyl in 2016.
On the work front, last seen on the big screen in Mister Mummy and Ved, opposite Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia will be next seen in Trial Period. She will be seen sharing the screen space with Manav Kaul and Gajraj Rao. Directed by Aleya Sen, the movie follows the journey of a single working mother, whose kid demands a father for a 30-day trial period.
