Passing away of the veteran superstar Rishi Kapoor after his prolonged battle against cancer, kept his last venture Sharmaji Namkeen unfinished. Starring Juhi Chawla in the female lead, the film had gone on floors in December 2019 and the makers too shot for 4 days in January 2020. Post which they were left to shoot some portions in Mumbai in the month of March, but due to lockdown, the movie went on hold. Now in order to pay him the last tribute makers of the film Excel Entertainment and co-producer Honey Trehan have decided to take VFX route to complete the film.
As per reports in Mid-Day, makers are planning to complete the remaining portion of this film with the use of advance technology. In order to release it in theatres, as it will be the late actor’s final goodbye to the silver screen, feels the producer Honey Trehan. “We want to take this film to the theatres for his friends, family and fans. We all owe this to Rishiji, one of the silver screen legends. I am grateful to Ritesh [Sidhwani, producer] and Farhan [Akhtar, producer] for investing in the movie not just monetarily, but also emotionally,” said the producer.
Producer shared that the director Hitesh Bhatia is chalking out a plan to complete the film after the main man passed away in the upcoming days.
