Pali Hill Waste-to-Energy project is the first of its kind in Mumbai was nominated for Skotch award 2019. This plant processes 1 MT of wet waste and generates electricity, which is utilised to illuminate street lights of Pali Hill area. The project was established at MCGM land and funded by Pali Hill Resident Association through CSR funds. This is a citizen-led decentralised model generating compost and electricity--- and thereby generating revenue also. At the same time, it is making Pali Hill area garbage free. And now, PHRA has got the award.
Rishi Kapoor, the celebrity resident of Pali Hill though away in the US since 5 months and quite unwell, is still keeping a tab on what's going on in his locality. SpotboyE.com has it that Rishi learnt of this achievement from his neighbours and happened to speak to Madhu Poplai ( of Pali Hill Residents Association). During the conversation, Rishi told Madhu that he is recovering and likely to return to Mumbai in the next few days.
When contacted, Poplai confirmed her chat with Rishi. "We spoke on WhatsApp. And yes, you are right. He did say about coming back soon."
So what did Rishi exactly say, we asked? Replied Madhu, "He was very happy with our bio-gas project and the consequent award. And he told me that he is better now and hopes to see me in March end."
That's really good news! Mr Kapoor, we are delighted that the treatment is working and you are mostly going to be back by this month-end.
