Yesterday morning, much to everyone's shock and dismay, Rishi Kapoor left us for his heavenly abode. The actor, who was diagnosed with cancer two years ago had traveled to New York for his treatment and returned to India just a while ago, is no more with us. At the age of 67, Ranbir Kapoor’s father passed away after bravely fighting it out with cancer. Reportedly, his cancer relapsed and was in the hospital for quite a while now.
Rishi Kapoor's good friend and co-stars of many films, Amitabh Bachchan broke this news on his Twitter handle, leaving everyone teary-eyed. Many TV and Bollywood celebs took to their social media handles and paid their tribute while also sending their condolences to his family. Amongst many, Rishi Kapoor's son-in-law and Riddhima Sahni's husband Bharat Sahni also shared a warm message for his father-in-law on Instagram.
While remembering him, he posted some family photos and captioned it as, "Will never forget the love you gave me. You taught me so much in the little time I had with you. Simply broken today. Lost for words. Love you and will miss you a lot. R.I.P. Papa."
The funeral of the legendary actor took place at Chandanwadi Crematorium, Marine Lines at 4 PM where his son Ranbir Kapoor, wife Neetu Kapoor performed his last rites. However, his daughter Riddhima was supposed to attend the funeral but due to the Coronavirus lockdown, she couldn't make it as she resides in Delhi.
