Payal Ghosh and Richa Chadha have amicably settled the defamation lawsuit that latter filed against Ms. Ghosh. Along with Payal, Richa Chadha also named self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan and a new channel in her lawsuit. The Fukrey actress filed the defamation case against them for dragging her name in Anurag Kashyap #MeToo controversy. Payal Ghosh had named Richa Chadha, Mahie Gill and Huma Qureshi in an interview while accusing Anurag Kashyap of sexual assault. Now the defamation case is settled and Payal Ghosh has agreed to tender an unconditional apology.
As per latest online report, Richa and Payal told Bombay High Court that they have amicably settled their dispute and filed consent terms following which Ms Ghosh has withdrawn her statement made against Chadha and also tendered an apology. Tweeting about the same, Payal wrote, “Our consent term with certain conditions has been finalised, filed & accepted by Hon’ble High Court as an amicable settlement. No one wins no one lost. It’s a case of win-win.”
She also wrote, “These are our conditions in para 3, accepted by plaintiff & her lawyer ,so by putting certain conditions in para 3,it becomes conditional apology Jai Hind!! India is intelligent enough to understand wording in consent term, amicable settlement mean no win no lose, onlywin & win.”
Payal, however took a dig at Richa Chadha for asking her to write uncondition apology. She wrote, “We are ready with all your conditions but only you have to write it’s unconditional apology, kids or what.. just to satisfy ego .. Lol..!!” Earlier, Payal had taken to her Twitter handle and stated that she will not apologise to Richa Chadha. She had tweeted, "I am not apologizing to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap72 told me. #SorryNotSorry."
