Saroj Khan made headlines with her controversial statement on the casting couch last evening.
Richa Chadha
Bollywood's ace choreographer, who's worshipped by young and old alike, justified the existence of the casting couch in tinsel town.
While the lady is being mercilessly trolled on social media, Richa Chadha has come out in her support and said she believes that the media is blowing the matter out of proportion.
I think people are making mountain of molehill. There's narrative that people in Bollywood are the worst&indulge in malpractices which isn't the case. She meant to say it takes place in all industries, why is Bollywood being singled out?: Richa Chadda, on Saroj Khan #CastingCouch pic.twitter.com/m2omh0n6tN

Defending Saroj Khan,
Richa said that the veteran choreographer said nothing wrong and she just asked
a question on why Bollywood was singled out when the casting couch is the norm
across industries.
Speaking to ANI, Richa said, “She said don't
single out Bollywood, when it happens everywhere. She was making a political
comment saying that even netas do it, but they leave the women. So, she meant
that don't judge those women who had been the victim of casting couch if they
are getting involved in this barter."
Richa added, “You are blowing the matter out of
proportion, ek narrative hai ki Bollywood ke log gire hue, bazaaru, daaru ke
nashe main choor, ek orgy kar ke ghar se nikle hain. Aisa hota nahi hai. Hum
log bahut disciplined life jeete hain.”
Saroj Khan issued an
apology for her insensitive remarks, a short while back.
Saroj Khan
Last night, the senior choreographer had made a bizarre comment on the casting couch when she was asked about Telugu actor Sri Reddy’s protest. She had said, “Ek baat batau ye to chala aa raha hai baba adam ke zamane se. Har ladki ke upar koi na koi haath saaf karne ki koshish karta hai.Government karti hai. Government ke log karte hain to tum film industry ke peeche kyun pade ho? Wo to roti to bhi deti hai, rape karke chorr to nahi deti.”
