Rhea Kapoor and Karan Boolani on Saturday, August 14, walked down the aisle in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. The lovebirds exchanged vows in a traditional Indian wedding in the presence of their family members and close pals. The wedding, which grabbed many eyeballs, was a low-key affair with reportedly just 30 guests in attendance, as both Rhea and Karan wanted their marriage to be simple. Now, as per a report in Pinkvilla, father Anil Kapoor will be hosting a dinner for the newlywed on Monday.
Confirming the same, the web portal quoted a source as saying, “The family was always clear on keeping it an intimate affair. However, due to Covid-19 protocols, even the otherwise limited guest list had to be cut short. There were a lot of close family members and friends who could not attend the wedding. And for them, Anil Kapoor with daughters Sonam and Rhea are hosting an intimate dinner on Monday.”
The insider added it will be like a mini reception for their near and dear ones who couldn’t attend the wedding ceremony. It is also said that a few celebrities from Bollywood are also expected to attend and greet the newlywed couple on Monday.
Besides family, Rhea Kapoor and Karan Boolani’s marriage was attended by Rhea’s cousins Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor and Mohit Marwah, uncles Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor and close friends Masaba Gupta and Kunal Rawal. Kajol and Ajay Devgn’s daughter Nysa was also in attendance. Several pictures and videos from the close-knit wedding ceremony have been shared by Rhea’s friend Karishma Karamchandani on the social media.
For the unversed, Rhea and Karan have been in a relationship for the past 13 years. The couple first met on the sets of Sonam Kapoor's 2010 film Aisha and immediately fell in love.
