Sushant Singh Rajput's death case is getting murkier day by day and taking everyone by storm with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) unfolding the truth one by one. In the drug cartel, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested by NCB for their alleged link with drugs. The sibling duo then applied for bail but it was rejected by the sessions court and magistrate court. They then applied for bail at Bombay High Court and reportedly, the bail plea hearing will be heard today. Amidst all this, the Narcotics Control Bureau filed an affidavit yesterday in the High Court opposing their bail.

In the affidavit, NCB has stated that Rhea and Showik were a part of the drug syndicate as they were connected to high-profile drug peddlers. But that's not it. The affidavit also claimed that the actress stored drugs at her residence. As per Indian Express, the NCB filed an 18-page affidavit mentioning that Rhea is involved in financing the illicit trafficking of drugs and that Rhea was aware of late Sushant Singh Rajput taking drugs and yet she ‘harboured him’. “She also stored drugs at her residence and allowed Sushant to consume it,” read a part of the affidavit.

Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director (NCB), filed two affidavits in the High Court saying, "Electronic evidence such as WhatsApp chats, records were retrieved from mobile, laptop and hard-disk and it indicated payment made for drugs. Thus, there is ample evidence to show present applicant Rhea has not only regularly dealt with but also financed illicit trafficking of drugs."

Meanwhile, along with Rhea Chakraborty and others, a few celebrities from the industry are also dragged in this drug nexus. Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh have been summoned and interrogated by NCB but none of them got a clean chit. Reportedly, more big and influential names are likely to be summoned soon.
