Rekha's romantic journey in the film industry had its share of ups and downs. Her first crush was on her early co-star, Naveen Nishchal, but unfortunately, he never returned her affections. As per the National Herald India, during the filming of Elaan (1971), she developed feelings for her co-star Vinod Mehra, eventually leading to marriage. However, Vinod's mother strongly opposed their union and didn't allow Rekha into their home.
Later on, Rekha reportedly formed a close bond with actor Kiran Kumar, the son of the legendary actor Jeevan. Although Kiran agreed to marry her, Jeevan was against the match, leading to yet another rejection in Rekha's love life. Much speculation surrounded Rekha's affection for Amitabh Bachchan, with whom she shared the screen in films like Silsila and Namak Haraam, but their relationship remained a subject of curiosity. The veteran actress never got married again. Rekha still graces top Bollywood events and film screenings even today.
