Raveena Tandon
just began the promotions of her upcoming flick, Shab. At an event this
morning, Raveena opened up about her initial days in the film industry. She
even talked about who her favourite actors were.
“In my childhood
days, I was a fan of Rishi Kapoor and then when I grew up a bit, I had a crush
on Sanjay Dutt. I have worked with him in seven films. I used to be very scared
while working with him as I couldn’t believe that I was actually doing a film with
someone whose posters were all over my room’s wall. I had a huge crush on him,”
said Raveena.
Raveena and
Sanjay have worked together in films like Jeena Marna Tere Sang (1992),
Kshatriya (1993), Zamane Se Kya Darna (1994), Aatish (1994), Vijeta (1996),
Jung (2000), Khauff (2000) and L.O.C. Kargil (2003).
Coming back to
Shab, the film is said to be a dramatic thriller. Raveena is playing a
strikingly different character from her last film Maatr. Talking about the same
she said, "Shab is a very sensitive film dealing with relationships.
Relationships are never easy and are always complicated. The film is made with
an ensemble cast and talks about how everyone
is connected with one another. I feel that when people will watch the film, they
will easily connect with some or the other character. I mostly try to do different
characters. After Maatr, you will see me here in a very glamorous avatar with a few grey shades. Doing different things excites me. I like to do things
which challenge me as an actor, something which I never did before. I hope I succeed as well.”
Directed by Onir,
Shab also features Arpita Chatterjee, Ashish Bisht, Simon Frenay and Gaurav
Nanda alongside Raveena. The film is set to hit theatres on June 30.
