Ranveer Singh starrer 'Anniyan', which is a remake of Tamil film has been creating buzz ever since it was announced on social media. Aascar Ravichandran, producer of the Tamil film 'Anniyan' is now moving High Court against director Shankar and producer Jayantilal Gaga over the remake of the film. He already filed a complaint against director Shankar with the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC).
Speaking to ETimes, Ravichandran said, "I am going to court against Shankar and Jayantilal Gada. They cannot make the film without my consent as I own the copyright of the film and no other person has the right over it as I am the author of the movie." Earlier, as many know, Shankar had responded to the producer's complaint stating that 'Anniyan' was his script, to this, Ravichandran said that he can say anything but everyone knows that 'Anniyan is my movie and I hired him to direct the film'.
Furthermore, Ravichandran stated that he will be filing a case against Shankar and Jayantilal Gada in the Madras High Court. "SIFCC, which has been supporting me, told me to wait a little longer as they have spoken to the film association in Mumbai. It is not Shankar who is the producer of the film but Gadaji with whom I need to have a discussion about the project," he added.
Adding to that, he said that he got to know about the remake of his film only when it was announced on social media. "I was shocked that without my knowledge, a remake of the film was announced," he said. In April, Ranveer Singh shared a picture with Shankar and Jayantilal Gada and wrote, "Proudly announcing my collaboration with the pioneering visionary of Indian cinema, the maverick master craftsman SHANKAR @shanmughamshankar..powered by veteran film producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada @jayantilalgadaofficial @pennmovies."
