Repercussions of Dilwale's average performance? Or is it the strong response to Bajirao Mastani at the ticket windows?
Buzz is, it's a combination of both that has led Ranveer Singh to take a step backwards on Rohit Shetty's remake of Subhash Ghai's 1989 blockbuster Ram Lakhan.Rumours are also making the rounds that Ranveer is a little apprehensive after Bajirao Mastani's success about sharing the spotlight with another actor.
Shetty had zeroed down on Ranveer, who had shown significant interest in playing Lakhan (played by Anil Kapoor in the original) before Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani hit theatres.
The Dilwale director had then clearly stated that his next would be the Ram Lakhan remake. Shockingly, he is now contemplating to put the same at the backburner and concentrate on another part of either Golmaal or Singham.

There is no progress on Shetty's front as far as the casting of Ram (Jackie Shroff in the original) is concerned. Goes without saying, Ranveer's sudden disinterest in the project has left Shetty extremely rattled.
