Ranveer Singh is set to play the character of Kapil Dev in his biopic, titled '83. While the film is set to go on floors soon, there is already a huge buzz regarding the same in the film industry. Just last evening Ranveer bumped into Kapil in a suburban Mumbai restaurant. And their selfie together is making fans more eager for the biopic.
Ranveer and Kapil were obviously pleasantly surprised with their chance meeting and discussed about '83 and their excitement about the project. Have a look at the selfie Ranveer took with the legendary cricketer:
Directed by Kabir Khan, the film will trace the life and times of the team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. It will culminate with the team's iconic World Cup victory.
Ranveer will start his prep sessions with Kapil in November. It will be a month-long training session. Ranveer will polish not just his cricket skills but also minutely read into the body language of the former Indian cricket captain.
Ranveer Singh, along with picking up the cricket legend’s signature outswinger, also has the humongous task of picking up the cricketer’s special mannerisms. While talking to Mid-day, the co-producer of the film Vishnu Induri had revealed in a recent interview, "Ranveer will start prepping from November. Kabir and he are in touch with Kapil, who will fly down to Mumbai for a week in November to help Ranveer prep for the role." The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized. It is being said that every actor will be spending quite a lot of time with their respective cricketer in real life.
With good buzz around the film, fans are now eagerly awaiting for the film's first look. With Ranveer meeting Kapil, the excitement has only gone higher. It will be interesting to see who plays Gavaskar, Amarnath, Yashpal Sharma & Co.
