Vidhu Vinod
Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani have roped in an independent music artiste Sheldon
Bangera to compose three songs for Sanjay Dutt biopic. Sheldon is known for his
songs like Samarth Hai from the album Raaja Hai Mahaan & Tu Kabhi Na Chode
Mujhko from Nachoonga.
Probably one of
the tunes which caught the makers’ attention.
A source close to
the film told us, “The makers wanted to have a fresher approach for the music
of the film but at the same time someone who could also keep the commercial
aspect in mind. Someone had recommended Sheldon’s name to them and this is when
they heard his tunes and asked him to send his songs to them.”
Ranbir Kapoor In Sanjay Dutt's Look
“The makers liked
the rough scratch immediately and they decided to give Sheldon three songs for
the film,” the source further added. As of now, Sheldon is working on the final
mixes of the tracks.
Rajkumar Hirani And Ranbir Kapoor
Apart from
Sheldon, Amaal Mallik will be composing a couple of tracks for the film.
A few months ago,
SpotboyE.com told you that Pritam who was in talks with the makers for bagging
the composing duties for the film had walked out of the project. When we called
Pritam to get to the bottom of the matter, he had a rather diplomatic answer,
"I was never a part of the film. Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) and I were
speaking about it. What a terrific project. Would have loved to do it but I
didn't have enough time."
Coming back to
our story, we wish Sheldon good luck for his Bollywood debut!
