Bollywood’s heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has never shied away from talking about his vices in public. He has been very vocal about his drinking problem in the public domain and has often credited his mom Neetu Kapoor for encouraging him to lead a healthier lifestyle. In a recent interview, RK revealed how his mom reacted when she caught him smoking as a child for the first time. The actor mentioned he has never seen his mother feeling so devastated.  

Speaking with RJ Siddharth Kannan during the promotions of his film ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, the Rockstar star even admitted he has spoken lies with his mother the most. On being asked to name the one person he lies to the most, Ranbir said, “I’ve lied to my mother the most. I used to get smacked a lot, I was very naughty. I’m a changed man now.” 

Further, the 40-year-old actor spoke about the dark phase he experienced in his life when Neetu caught him smoking. The actor said, “When I first smoked a cigarette, and my mother found out… It was a very dark time in my life. It was a dark moment, I haven’t seen my mother feeling so devastated. She thought I was doing heroin. Of course, you feel bad. I apologised profusely, I begged for forgiveness. But eventually, I guess, parents also give up.” ALSO READ: VIRAL! Back in 2018, the actor talked about his drinking problem and told Health & Nutrition magazine that he has a tendency to drink a lot. Once he starts, he does not stop. He went on to state that alcohol is in his genes.

Meanwhile, Ranbir’s latest offering ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ with Shraddha Kapoor was released this Holi. The Luv Ranjan project marked RK’s first onscreen collaboration with the Baaghi girl. The movie is garnering a positive response from the audience.
