Ranbir Kapoor Doesn’t DESERVE An Award For Brahmastra! Actor Says, ‘Bohot Badi Acting Performance Nahi Thi’

Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about his feelings towards receiving an award for best acting performance at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor never minces his words when it comes to expressing his feelings. After spending decades in the industry, his honest and witty responses are often lauded by the audiences. During a recent interaction, the actor was asked about his won at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023. For the unversed, he had won an award in the Best Actor category for his highly-anticipated film Brahmastra. 

Talking about the same, the 40-year-old actor shared that as per him, he didn’t deserve the award as it wasn’t one of his best performances. As quoted by IndiaTimes.com, he said, “Of course I am very grateful ki mujhe yeh sammaan dia. I don't think I fully deserve it for Brahmastra. Vo bohot badi kuch acting performance nahi thi. The video of Ranbir’s response is going viral on social media and his fans are lauding his answer. Many even pointed out that Ranbir’s performance was much better in Shamshera than Brahmastra. He also expressed his happiness that his wife Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Calling her win deserving, he said, “I am very excited that Alia won the award because she was truly deserving in her performance in Gangubai. That's one of her finest performances ever. Par jab award milta hai, ek achcha feedback, ek pappi milti hai ki chalo aapne theek thak kaam kia. Aur zyadatar feeling ye hoti hai ki chalo ye bach gaye, abhi agle tak tension abhi rakhenge. Ab ye jab film release ho to ye bhi chal gai, zyadatar yahi hota hai ki phew, bach gaye.”

On the work front, the actor is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. The Luv Ranjan directorial marks Ranbir’s return to the rom-com genre. He also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal in his pipeline. The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
