Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Rakshabandhan directed by Anand L Rai. Khiladi Kumar attended the show, Super Singer 2 which is airing on Sony TV, and he got emotional during one of the performances as he heard his sister’s voice.
In a new promo released by the sony channel of the singing reality show Super Singer 2, Akshay Kumar is seen getting emotional. One of the contestants Rituraj performed on Kishore Kumar's song, Phoolon Ka Taron Ka and during the performance, an audio message from his sister Alka Bhatia played with a series of photographs.
The message was in Punjabi and addressing him as ‘Raju’, she said, “Pyare Raju, kal gal karde waqt ekdum yaad aaya 11 August Rakhi hai. Mere har dukh sukh vich mere naal khada rhya. Dost, bhai, baap saare role nibhaye tune Raja. Thank you for everything Raju (Dear Raju, I just remembered while chatting with someone that the festival of Rakhi is on August 11. You stood beside me at all times, good and bad. From being a father, friend to a brother, you played all roles for me. Thank you for everything Raju).”
Meanwhile, hearing his sister’s sweet audio message and seeing the photos he was in tears. He got emotional and while trying hard to control his tears he said, “Hum ek chhote se ghar mein rehte the. Us devi aane ke baad humari zindagi badal gayi. Jo behen ka rishta hota hai, usse bada koi nahi hai (We lived in a small house, and after her birth, our life changed. There is nothing bigger than the brother-sister relationship).”
Raksha Bandhan describes the bond between brothers and sisters. It shows the love and sacrifice of the elder brother for his sisters. The movie showcases a brother can go to any extent from sacrificing his love and finance to seeing his sisters happy and smiling. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and there are four other actors debuting in the movie. The newcomers Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth will be playing the role of Kumar's sisters in the movie, while Bhumi will be his love interest. It is slated to hit the theatres on August 11, 2022.
