A while back we told you that the makers of Raees have preponed the release date of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer by a day to January 25, 2017 (Shah Rukh-Hrithik War Intensifies, SRK Fires A Salvo!, Dec 7).

This move was seen as a direct salvo at Hrithik Roshan's home production Kaabil. Especially as the film's producer Rakesh Roshan had changed the release date from January 26 to January 25, in a  bid to avoid a direct clash.

But it looks like the makers of Raees are intent on meeting Kaabil at the box-office on the same day.

When SpotboyE.com contacted Rakesh Roshan to quiz him about this development, he replied with this quip: “Happy to know that they are following me and my business experience”

Both biggies-Kaabil and Raees were set to clash on the Republic Day. It would have been a neck to neck competition for sure. While Shah Rukh’s Raees has already been delayed much, it was impossible to move its release date further. But then Hrithik moved his film. (Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil Will NOT Clash With Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees!, Dec 2).

There was supposed to be a difference of few hours between the releases of the two films. While SRK’s Raees was slated to hit the theatres on Jan 26th morning Hrithik’s Kaabil was lined up for release 6 pm onward on January 25th.

When Shah Rukh was quizzed about the clash between Kaabil and Raees at the launch of his film's trailer,  he shrugged it off saying that the new date will help both films because a holiday (Republic Day) follows. (See Video Below)
