Gear up as Bollywood is going to see another remake and this time it would be of 1975 cult movie, Chupke Chupke. The original film which was helmed by the prolific director Hrishikesh Mukerjee starred Dharmendra, Jaya Bhaduri, Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore in the lead roles. Back then, the out and out comedy film gained a cult status and now 2019 Bollywood is all set to make a remake of it starring Rajkummar Rao.
It was reported that for Dharmendra’s role, Prof. Tripathi will be now essayed by Rajkummar Rao. Talking about the film, the Made In China actor recently spoke to Mumbai Mirror and spilled some beans around the film. As the legendary actor had set a benchmark with his par excellence performance, Rajkummar says that it’s a big responsibility to essay his role onscreen. The actor said, "It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Director) standard, but we will try to put our best foot forward," quoted by the leading tabloid.
Knowing how an amazing actor Rajkummar is, we are pretty certain the Rao would be able to pull off this character with great finesse, we can’t wait to hear more update regarding this film. Meanwhile, Rajkummar is currently gearing up for his upcoming release Made In China which is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 25. The film is helmed by Mikhil Musale.
Apart from Rajkummar, it also stars Mouni Roy, Boman Irani, Sumeet Vyas, Paresh Rawal and Gajaraj Rao. Set to release this Diwali, Made In China is produced by Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios.
