Rajiv Kapoor Death: Alia Bhatt Cuts Short Her Maldives Trip; Ranbir Kapoor And Mom Neetu Kapoor Arrive To Pay Their Respects

Ranbir Kapoor’s uncle and veteran actor Rajiv Kapoor passed away on Tuesday, Neetu Kapoor shared the heartbreaking news of his demise on her social media this morning. He was 58. Rajiv Kapoor, popularly known as Chimpu Kapoor, suffered a heart attack. Reports state that the veteran actor was rushed to the hospital but he was declared ‘dead on arrival’ by the doctors. Ranbir Kapoor and his mom Neetu Kapoor were spotted as they arrived at the Kapoor bungalow in Chembur to pay their respects.

Videos shared by the paparazzi show Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor arriving in the car at the Kapoor bungalow. Ranbir, who is Rajiv Kapoor’s nephew, got out of the car along with his mom Neetu and they both headed inside the bungalow. Meanwhile, Ranbir’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt was also spotted at the Mumbai Airport as she cut short her Maldives trip and returned back to Mumbai.

Earlier, pictures of a visibly glum Kareena Kapoor Khan outside her residence, making her way to the Kapoor bungalow, had also surfaced. Kareena, her sister and her mother Babita headed to the Kapoor bungalow. Aadar Jain's girlfriend and Bollywood actress Tara Sutaria also reached the Kapoor’s residence.



Rajiv Kapoor was most famous for his role in the 1985 film Ram Teri Ganga Maili. He had made his debut with the film Ek Jaan Hain Hum in 1983. Meanwhile, Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Toolsidas Junior' marks the last film of Rajiv Kapoor, and Ashutosh Gowariker expressed his sorrow that the actor couldn't witness his own performance for one last time in the film.
