Just this morning we broke the news that Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Shahid Kapoor-Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati will hit theatres on January 25. It will lock horns with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man on the Republic Day weekend. But now there is some bad news for team Padmavati.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said that the film won't be released across the state.

We wonder what Sanjay Leela Bhansali and team Padmavati will say after listening about this ban!
In November when the whole Padmavati controversy started, Raje had said that the film wouldn't release in Rajasthan until the CBFC certifies it, and therefore had banned it then. However, even now when the film has been certified by the censor board, then also, Raje seems to be dissatisfied.
The state of Gujarat had also banned the film then stating the impending elections as a reason. But now the elections are done, and BJP came out a winner. So there doesn't seem to be any reason to stop the movie from releasing now.
Let's wait and watch whether any other state follows suit with Rajasthan.
