It was recently that Aashiqui actor Rahul Roy suffered a brain stroke. He was in Kargil shooting for a film helmed by Nitin Kumar Gupta. The actor was airlifted to Srinagar and then to Mumbai for treatment. Rahul Roy is now recuperating and undergoing his speech therapy and more. Amidst all this, filmmaker Nitin Gupta announced a film called Stroke. He announced that Rahul Roy will be essaying the role of a person who has suffered a stroke in this film. Rahul's family members have now slammed the filmmaker for the same.

Rahul's sister Priyanka has accused Nitin Gupta of not answering her calls when the actor was in Kargil. To ETimes, she explained that she along with brother Rohit got in contact with a brigadier at Kargil who then sent in commandos to check on Rahul. She was quoted saying, "The commandos reached Kargil on 26th and Rahul was brought to Mumbai on 27th. We reached the brigadier, courtesy one of our uncles in the army. Nitin called me on 26th and prior to that, he was not responding to my calls. This is a very sad, heartbreaking announcement in our trying times that Rahul will act in Nitin's next titled 'Stroke'."

The actor's brother-in-law Romeer Sen also slammed Nitin Gupta for 'dancing on tragedy' by announcing the film Stroke. He even mentioned that Rahul hasn't given his consent yet to the film. Romeer was quoted saying, "Has Nitin even informed Rahul? No! Rahul is doing a film without him knowing about it!How terrible is that! How on earth is Nitin so confident that Rahul will do the role that he wants? Does Nitin have a script? No! At least we haven't seen one such. If Rahul agrees at a later date, that's a different matter. But an announcement without his consent when he's still in hospital?"

He further went on to add, "Nitin is dancing on our tragedy." It was recently that Rahul Roy shared a picture and video from the hospital stating that he is on the path of recovery. (Also Read: After Rahul Roy Suffered A Real-Life Brain Stroke, Actor To Star In A Film Titled Stroke? EXCLUSIVE)
