It was recently that a video of an elderly couple from Delhi had gone viral on the internet. The video showed an old man in his 80s trying to make ends meet by selling food at Baba Ka Dhaba. However, the lockdown made their life miserable. Soon after the video went viral, many Bollywood celebrities came forward to urge their fans to help the elderly couple. Baba Ka Dhaba became pretty famous and videos of people queuing outside the stall made their way to the internet. However, now Kanta Prasad, the owner of Baba Ka Dhaba has filed a complaint against the YouTuber Gaurav Wasan who shot the video and alleged that they have been duped. R Madhavan is disappointed with the news.
Taking to Twitter, the Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein actor wrote, "Elderly owner of Baba ka Dhaba duped in Delhi? Now this is the kind of thing that gives ppl a reason not to do good. Unacceptable. Now if this fraud couple is caught and punished ..FAITH will be restored @DelhiPolice full faith in you." He rightly pointed out that such acts actually serve as a reason for people to not come out to do good.
The elderly couple in the complaint has reportedly mentioned that YouTuber Gaurav Wasan who shot the video and urged all to send the donations is not showing financial details of the money he received. Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) confirmed filing of a complaint and said, “We received the complaint yesterday at the Malviya Nagar Police Station and the matter is being probed. No FIR has been registered yet in the case.” However, Gaurav has denied all the allegations.
