Few days ago, a
tabloid carried a piece of gossip which made us connect the dots- it is not
rocket science but simply about adding 2 and 2 to make 4.
It read –
While a desi Bollywood export is doing rather well on
foreign shores, her poorer cousin is always in hot water. The woman in question
was once embroiled in a suicide case in the capital when the wife of her lover
ended up hanging herself. As per the latest report she filed a sexual assault
charge against catering tycoon last week. Reportedly, the matter has now been
resolved “out of court”, but we really do hope this cousin gets some real work
for a change.
Well, the tabloid was of course referring to Priyanka
Chopra and Parineeti Chopra's cousin Meera Chopra.

Meera courted a major controversy in 2011 when she
allegedly featured on the wanted list of the Delhi Police for a murder case.
She was questioned in connection with the death of a 28-year-old woman Ruchi
Bhuttan, who committed suicide. Buzz was Ruchi’s husband Sumit was
having an extra- marital liaison with Meera.
So now how is the
hotelier? Did we find out? Hmmm.... not that he matters. But we had to find out
the whereabouts of Meera Chopra, especially because around the same time that
we were joining the dots, we got a call from a little birdie who said that
Meera was in a bad state and has been admitted to a leading hospital in Delhi.
Rrrring.... Is
that Meera Chopra's mother speaking? We called and the lady at the other end
replied in the affirmative. She heard us out, confirmed that Meera had been
admitted in a hospital and was feeling terribly weak- but did not say anything
more than that. "I shall connect you to Mira soon," she concluded.
10 minutes later, Meera called us to say,"Listen I am
very much single. I was not admitted to a big hospital but a nursing home near my parents' house. I was down with just a bacterial infection."
She added, "I have not been feeling well for a month
and my doctor in Mumbai had prescribed some medicines - but I did not take
them regularly. I needed my parents, so I reached Delhi. I am feeling much
better now and will be coming back to Mumbai soon."
Well, well, well...
