Priyanka Chopra wants to become a mother one day. That's for sure. And the feisty actress has also firmly decided that her kids will have a far better childhood than her.

She has made this amply clear in film distributor Shyam Shroff's daughter-in-law Shunali Shroff's book Battle Hymn of a Bewidered Mother which hit the stands a couple of days ago.

The 32-year old actress has written a foreword in the book, which dwells on the harsh realities of a parent In today’s ultramodern, supersonic and chaotic world.

In Priyanka's words: Like Shunali, I am an army kid and much like her I will also be bringing my future children into a world far removed and far more privileged than my own middle class upbringing. That in itself is a scary thought. The kids today are smarter, stronger, more independent and more sure of themselves than we ever were and at most times will leave you feeling somewhat inadequate and ill-equipped for parenthood. Ive had some experience with my friends kids and its like being given a peek into a secret world. There are no manuals and no mothers words of wisdom to help you bring up a kid of today but with Battle Hymn of a Bewildered Mother.

Shunali makes you believe that you dont really need any of that. Just close your eyes... jump... and then try to fly as best as you can! Apart from being sparklingly witty, Battle Hymn of a Bewildered Mother is also an honest confession of a young independent woman of today who unabashedly shares her journey from being a connoisseur of ‘La Dolce Vita to the hits and misses of motherhood. Its a story of triumph over pre-conceived thoughts, notions and your grandmothers potions... proof that all you really need is love and some insanity to find your way through this crazy world called Parenting. But more than anything else it leaves you with a sense of hope... that no matter how much or little you know, how daunting the task, how unprepared we are at most times of our lives... at the end, if you really want it, everything will be alright! Shes an army kid after all!

Interestingly, Priyanka and Shunali were not friends till now. A source says, "Shunali sent her book to Priyanka. Priyanka loved the book and surprised Shunali by writing a foreword for her. Shunali was overwhelmed by Priyanka's gesture."

Shunali has worked as a journalist, a freelance writer and the owner of a successful PR firm by the name of Spindoctors. That, however, was another incarnation. As soon as the storks visited her, she plunged into motherhood with the trepidation of a reluctant air diver about to take her first leap of faith. An eternal optimist, she mistakenly assumed that she could retire to being a lady of leisure once the kids were out of their diapers. But destiny had other plans.
