Priyanka Chopra has been receiving a lot of backlash on social media ever since the latest episode of Quantico aired. The actress has now apologized to her fans in her latest tweet. Check it out:
Priyanka tweeted, "I’m extremely saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been hurt by a recent episode of Quantico. That was not and would never be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I'm a proud Indian and that will never change (sic)."
For those who've come in late, the whole outrage against Priyanka started after her recent episode of Quantico showed her character, Alex Parrish (who is an anti-terrorist cell's officer in FBI), plotting a nuclear attack on Manhattan just to frame Pakistan, that too days before an Indo-Pak summit was to be held.
Indians all over the world took offence at the scene and took to social media to blast the actress.
ABC, the channel which airs the show, stood by Priyanka. They put out a statement saying, "The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn't create the show, nor does she write or direct it."
Hope the trolls back off now.
