Priyanka Chopra’s memoir Unfinished was highly anticipated, and the book finally released on February 9. The memoir traces her journey as an actor right from her initial days to the present. Priyanka Chopra has been really excited about the release of Unfinished and she has been sharing several videos on her social media to express her excitement about it. In the book, Priyanka mentioned an incident that took place in the initial days of her film career, where she was asked to strip for a song, and how Salman Khan had to intervene and defuse the situation.
In her memoir, Priyanka Chopra revealed that during the beginning of her career, she was doing a big Bollywood film, but a seductive song in the film required her to take her clothes off slowly. The song was quite long, and Priyanka suggested that it would be better if she wore more layers of clothing so that she wouldn’t be 'down to skin way too fast'. “The director suggested me to speak to my stylist, so I called him and briefly explained the situation, then passed on the phone to the director. Standing right in front of me, the director said: "Jo bhi ho, chaddiyyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyun dekhne aayenge?,” wrote Priyanka.
It was the tone and the director’s words that Priyanka found unacceptable, and she decided to quit the film the next day. When the producer found out, Priyanka was confronted about it.
She then wrote how Salman Khan came to her rescue, and intervened on her behalf. “My co-star Salman Khan, who was and is a huge star in India, understood the situation immediately and intervened on my behalf...when the producer arrived, he had a conversation with him that defused the conversation. I'm not sure exactly what he said but the producer was in a much calmer state when he spoke to me,” wrote Priyanka.
