Global icon Priyanka Chopra as she progressed in her personal and professional life, fearlessly spoke about several topics under the sun. One of these topics was her concern over her skin colour. The ace Bollywood actress confessed to falling for the lighter skin norm of the industry in her young days. Admitting about this unspoken norm, she confessed buying into ‘equity on lighter skin’. PeeCee made this revelation on Ladies First Podcast hosted by Laura Brown, she mentioned being messy sometimes is okay.

Making this revelation she said, “There were so many unrealistic beauty standards. Being ridiculously skinny was one, which I didn’t think about in my 20s, because I had a crazy metabolism at that point, as you do. But more than that, the equity on lighter skin in Asia, for sure. That’s something that I fell for. The fact that you have to be perfect, your face has to be perfect, your hair has to be perfect, you have to dress perfect, speak perfect, you have to have the right opinion on everything, you have to say the right thing.”

She added, “I think that part was the first (time) I kind of was like, ‘Forget it, I’m okay being messy sometimes, and it’s okay.’”

The Sky Is Pink actress shared though it took time for her to accept it, she aims to continue with it even for her onscreen performances.  During the Podcast she shared that she aims to unzip’ the ‘glitz and glamour’ as it made her feel like living in a box.
Mentioning that her good fortune helped her collaborate with ace filmmakers in India, she hopes to spread her wings and also have diverse work in Hollywood. Though she mentioned having a feeling of living in a ‘shiny and glittery and pretty’ box, she adds, “I want to be a little messy.” ALSO READ: Nick Jonas Helps Priyanka Chopra Put Her Coat On; Singer Reacts As Fan Shouts PeeCee's Name And Tells Her 'I Love You'
