UN Goodwill Ambassador, as well as Global Citizen ambassador Priyanka Chopra, had jetted off to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos. The WEF is held every year and personalities from various fields come under one roof to address topics of social importance. We saw Deepika Padukone honored with the Crystal Award during the opening of the 50th WEF and in her acceptance speech, she stressed the importance of mental health and opened up about her own struggles with it. Now, Priyanka Chopra, on Tuesday, was a part of the meeting and she addressed various issues such as poverty, climate change, in a fireside chat with several renowned figures.
Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram stories and shared several videos of her speech and pictures from the event. In her speech, she said that she understood the power of influence and keeping the conversation about important issues going. She added, “Let's bring the world to a place where a child's dreams are achievable, where that child can get an education, where that child can have papers, where that child can actually have a future. I want my kids to grow up in a world where the world leaders have listened to Greta’s generation, where the climate crisis is contained if not averted, where a woman’s ability to succeed is a basic human right and not based on geography or chance." Priyanka Chopra had also earlier shared in her Instagram story a picture of herself prepping for the speech. Besides these, she also shared a picture on her Instagram post with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, praising her for her contribution.
