Actress Preity Zinta’s ex-lover Ness Wadia, a business tycoon and heir of the Wadia Group and co-owner of Kings XI Punjab is in severe trouble. Wadia has been sentenced to a two-year jail term in Japan for drugs possession.
A report in Financial Times states that Ness Wadia was caught at New Chitose Airport in the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido with 25 grams of cannabis resin in his trouser pockets. “Mr Wadia spent a period in detention before his indictment on March 20 and an undisclosed period of detention before a court hearing. The Sapporo District Court handed him a two-year prison sentence, which was suspended for five years," the report claimed.
Wadia had allegedly admitted to the possession of drugs stating that it was meant for his personal consumption. Japan’s narcotics laws are stringent and ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, these laws are being applied tightly.
In 2014, Preity Zinta had accused Ness Wadia of molesting and intimidating her during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. Later, she had withdrawn the case. Then, this year, SpotboyE.com exclusively brought you the story of how the actress faced a harrowing time as she was stopped from boarding a Go Air flight, all thanks to Ness Wadia’s orders. Several calls were made by the airline to their higher officials and the matter was resolved in the nick of time, but not before Preity had confirmed that Ness had resorted to such lows.
