Actress Preity Zinta after a hiatus of around 6 years is all set to return to Bollywood with Aamir Khan’s Lahore 1947. Despite being away from the big screens, she often extended support to her Indian Premiere League (IPL) cricket team Punjab Kings. Not only did she also focus on running a business, but she and her husband Gene Goodenough also welcomed their twin kids Gia and Jai. Amid being back in town and being spotted out and about the city by the paparazzi, she recently grabbed everyone’s attention with her first-time appearance on the red carpet of the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

Preity left everyone mesmerised with her look as she presented an honour to veteran cinematographer Santosh Sivan. Set to star in the Sunny Deol-led movie, she opened up about why it took so long for her to return to the Hindi film industry. In an interview with DD India, she explained that she wanted to focus more on other things and didn’t want to do a film. The 49-year-old actress stated that she wanted to make a family of her own. She went on to express how while actors get a great opportunity to play various lives for the entertainment of others, many shouldn’t forget that they also have their lives to live. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, she said, “It's great to play various lives, but you shouldn't forget to live your life. So I wanted to have children. Business was also very exciting since it was something new. But mostly, I wanted to focus on my personal life. I really don't want to be an accomplished actor and a lonely person.”

On the work front, the actress had returned to India to complete her professional commitments. Preity Zinta will be next seen in Lahore 1947 co-starring Sunny Deol and Karan Deol. The Rajkumar Santoshi directorial is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and is set for a 2025 release.
