Kareena Kapoor Khan’s fans were delighted to read the news of the diva being appointed as UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate in recent times. Today, taking to her Instagram account on the occasion of World Children’s Day, she wished every child across the globe and urged people to join her to help the children who need to have a better future. She spoke about COVID-19 pandemic that has affected several children across the globe thus putting a pause on their education.

Sharing the video on her Instagram account she wrote, “#worldchildrensday This #WorldChildrensDay I invite everyone to #reimagine a better future #ForEveryChild. Join me and @unicefindia to address the learning crisis. #reimagine #ForEveryChild” In the video, she is heard saying that this initiative is very close to her as it all about providing the most essential element for a child that is education. She says, “Its UNICEF’ global initiative for the children, by the children. As UNICEF’S celebrity advocate, education, and making sure that every child has the opportunity to learn is close to my heart.”

Also, everyone shall agree with the fact that the due to the pandemic, schools have remained shut and transformed into online schools for more than 7 months now which has affected children as they have missed out on studies, “But, this year, as you all know schools have been closed for more than seven months due to the pandemic. There is a learning crisis with millions of children missing out on education in the country,” she added.

Adding further she mentions unlike many children, there are still a lot out there who don't have laptops or smartphones to access the online sessions. “You know that not every child has a computer or a smartphone with internet or even TV. Towards the end getting our attention at the girl children, speculating about some shall not even go back to school. She said, “The chances are that many of them, especially girls, are not likely to ever go back to school.” Finally urging people to support her and UNICEF in this cause for the betterment of the children affected due to this pandemic.
