All of us are yet to get over the Janta Curfew, an initiative announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that took place on March 22. The same day saw almost all the Indian citizens, including celebrities, gathering at their balconies and clapping or banging utensils to pay tribute all those providing us with the essential commodities during the times of crisis. Must say, the Indian unity on that day was on its peak. Well, here’s another task by the PM.

On Friday morning, PM Modi, through a special video message, has urged all the citizens to switch off their lights this Sunday at 9 pm and light candles, diyas or their mobile phones’ flashlights to mark their fight against COVID-19. This initiative by Narendra Modi has opened to a good response. Celebrities like Vivek Agnihotri, Taapsee Pannu and Rangoli Chandel have reacted to the same. Taapsee, in her tweet, wrote, “New task is here ! Yay yay yayy !!!”

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri wrote, “Before idiots start trolling the PM, I must put on record that @narendramodi is the best leader India can get. He knows how to lead Indians emotionally and spiritually. There is no other way out.” Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli, too, welcomed his decision with open hands by writing, “Lighting Diyas is a very good gesture, diya creates an ethereal aura which is very calming and effective, to show each other our support let’s do this, I love how @narendramodi ji also focuses on our emotional needs and tries to heal us in every way .... Jai Shri Ram.”

Narendra Modi, in his message, said, “The way you paid gratitude to people fighting against COVID-19, on March 22 has become a model that is being emulated by other countries. Janta curfew & ringing of bells/clanging utensils, made the country aware of its unity amid this challenging time. I request all of you to switch off all the lights of your house on 5th April at 9 PM for 9 minutes, and just light a candle, 'diya',  or mobile's flashlight, to mark our fight against Coronavirus.”
