We woke up to the disturbing news of filmmaker Rakesh Roshan suffering from throat cancer. His actor-son Hrithik Roshan shared the sad news on social media by writing, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. Love you Dad.”
Soon after that, several celebrities including ex-wife Sussanne Khan started writing messages wishing for his speedy recovery. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a tweet to Hrithik Roshan, praying for his father’s good health. He wrote, “Dear Hrithik, praying for the good health of Shri Rakesh Roshan Ji. He is a fighter and I am sure he will face this challenge with utmost courage. @RakeshRoshan_N”

Since the last year, several celebrities have been detected with cancer. Irrfan Khan, Sonali Bendre, Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap are some of them, and now, Hrithik’s father has been detected with the Deadly C. He is suffering from first stage of throat cancer and is already going on for a surgery today.
For those unaware, Hrithik’s sister Sunaina Roshan beat cervical cancer in 2014.
