In December 2023, the release of the Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer "Animal" sparked widespread debate and controversy. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film garnered attention for its polarizing reception, with some praising its direction while others criticized it as toxic. The Pushpa actress, in particular, faced backlash following the film's release, with many trolling her for allegedly delivering unclear dialogue in a Karva Chauth scene. ALSO READ: Rashmika Mandanna Stuns In Black At Milan Fashion Week, Amid Animal’s Roaring Success- Take A Look At Her Photos INSIDE

However, after four months of silence, the Sita Ramam actress has chosen to address the criticism she received. During a recent appearance on Neha Dhupia's show, she offered a strong response to the trolls, shedding light on the extensive effort and dedication invested in crafting that specific scene.

Rashmika recounted how the entire cast and crew celebrated upon successfully shooting the nine-minute-long sequence, expressing her own satisfaction with the outcome and emphasizing the collective belief in its brilliance. This public acknowledgement not only serves as a rebuttal to her detractors but also highlights the behind-the-scenes dedication and teamwork involved in bringing such moments to life on screen.

"I don’t like people trolling women on their bodies.. as long as that’s not the case and they’re trolling me about my films, cinema, my face in the film when I say the dialogue… I know how the performance was. I have done the performance five months ago," Rashmika said.

The Telugu star further said, "The Karwa Chauth scene which was a nine-minute long scene and while doing the scene, people on the set loved it. They were clapping and felt it was done so well. But the trailer came out and I was trolled so much for that one particular dialogue from the same scene. So I thought, I did the 9-minute long scene and everyone on the set liked it, but people now are trolling me for the same. So am I living in a bubble? Like are people not gonna like this scene? Because you know what you’ve shot, but people don’t know. People just know that like those 10 seconds. So I don’t want to ever be in my life where I’m living in a bubble. I need to be on the ground. I need to talk to people. I need to know what’s really going on."

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal has been a blockbuster as the film has raked more than Rs 900 crore worldwide.
