Actress Payal Ghosh recently shared her #MeToo story and accused Sacred Games maker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. She released a video on social media claiming that Anurag Kashyap misbehaved with her. She then lodged an FIR against him at Versova Police Station. Today, she was reportedly called in for questioning. As reported by ETimes, Payal Ghosh was summoned by the Versova Police for questioning in the case against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

It was on Tuesday that an FIR was registered against Anurag Kasyap. As reported, the FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty,), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 342 (wrongful confinement). Payal had submitted her written complaint a day earlier.

Payal in her complaint claimed that in the year 2013, Anurag Kashyap called her to his residence on the pretext of giving her work. She then claimed that he took her to his room and misbehaved.

Post the shocking allegations, many celebrities like Kalki Koechlin, Richa Chaddha, Taapsee Pannu and others came out in support of Anurag Kashyap. His lawyer also released a statement saying that his client is deeply pained with the 'false' allegations. The statement read, "My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious and dishonest. It is sad that a social movement as important as the #MeToo movement has been co-opted by vested interests and reduced to a mere tool for character assassination. Fictitious allegations of this nature seriously undermine the movement and seek to unconscionably trade upon the pain and trauma of the actual victims of sexual harassment and abuse. My client has been fully advised of his rights and remedies in law and intends to pursue them to the fullest extent."
