If there is Kartik Aaryan in the film, there has to be a monologue ranting against women. Be it his Pyaar Ka Panchnama, Luka Chuppi or his soon-to-be-released Pati Patni Aur Woh, Kartik always delivers a speech that cracks everyone up. However, he seems to have irked a few with his rant over marital sex in the trailer of Pati Patni Aur Woh. A line that talks about marital rape has left Twitterverse furious with people calling out makers for showing stupidity in the name of entertainment.

Kartik Aaryan's monolog goes as, "Biwi se sex maang lein, toh hum bhikaari. Biwi ko sex mana kar dein, toh hum atyachaari aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke uss se sex haasil kar lein na toh balaatkaari bhi hum hain." This 'balatkaari' (rapist) thing has got everyone talking. A Twitter user wrote, "Did the monologue in the trailer of  #PatiPatniAurWoh seriously just defend marital rape????". Another user wrote, "Saw trailer of #PatiPatniAurWoh and what a shameful statement what says that "Rape" is a "Jugad Sex"Utterly disgraced by this dialogue and atleast didn't expect this from @TheAaryanKartik." Well, the trailer may or may not have entertained the audiences, but the question of the film being sexist did appear in the minds of the makers and stars, as revealed by Bhumi Pednekar. In an interview with IANS, she was quoted saying, "When I read the script, all the doubts that I had simply vanished. This is not frivolous... The story is very empowering to both genders. I think that the makers made sure that this does not turn into a sexist, baseless film. I do not think anyone who is part of this film, including us actors, belong to that school. We were extremely conscious of the fact that we do not end up making it into a sexist comment." Pati Patni Aur Woh releases in December this year.
