Meanwhile, SRK was last seen in the film Zero, and took a long break from the movies later. As the actor will resume work anytime soon, reports stated that he is all set to star in WAR director Sidharth Anand’s film titled Pathan, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Now, the latest reports share an update about the multi-starrer.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathan have decided a date for the release of the action-packed entertainer. As the multi-starrer will be a part of YRF’s prestigious 50 years slate, a source close to the development revealed that the makers are planning for a release during the Diwali 2021 weekend. The source said, “Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra go down a long way and most of the SRK – YRF films have arrived during the Diwali weekend. Pathan will be no different. They are planning the schedule as well as post production in a manner that the film releases on Diwali next year.”
As per the source in the report, the shooting of the film is scheduled to start in November. The report stated that the makers will be shooting in Mumbai, where they are planning to film solo portions of Shah Rukh Khan. The source disclosed that Deepika and John will join the cast from next year. The two actors will shoot for a marathon schedule at overseas locations, from early 2021. The source also shared, “It’s going to be one of the biggest action films of Bollywood and what better than Diwali for this Dhamaka.”
