Parineeti Chopra starrer Saina, a biopic on Badminton champion Saina Nehwal hit the cinemas on March 26, 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video is all set to premiere the movie on April 23, thus making it reach a wider set of audience. This news has left the actress elated as the film will now have a global digital premiere, as it will let the audience witness an inspirational story. The trailer of the movie had left her fans impressed and the critics too had given an outstanding review for the biopic.
As reported in India TV she said, “I am extremely thrilled with the film having a global digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video, bringing such an inspirational story to audiences across the world.” She further added how a biographical film comes with a lot of challenges, as one has to stay true to the character they are portraying on screen. She adds, “With this film, I have learnt that a biographical film comes with many challenges; my biggest challenge as an actor was to get into Saina Nehwal’s shoes, literally and figuratively, to stay true to the story and recreate her accomplishments and hardships.”
Speaking about how she learnt several aspects of the athlete she said, “As an actor, I embraced each challenge, and I do think that I learnt a lot as a professional in the process. I worked on the physical appearance and the right body language, and I am glad it worked out in my favour. I had a great time working on this film.”
