Bollywood’s veteran actor Paresh Rawal’s son is set to step into the world of entertainment and glamour. According Mumbai Mirror, the star kid will be seen in Rajan Chandel’s directorial, titled as Bamfaad. Aditya will be seen opposite Arjun Reddy actress Shalini Pandey and the movie will be co-produced by Anurag Kashyap.
Confirming the news, Anurag told leading tabloid, “Ranjan has been a long-time collaborator as writer and assistant. Producer Ajay Rai and I worked together on Gulaal and Dev D. I am fully involved with the project with the producers Ajay, Pradeep Kumar and Alan McAlex.”
Further, talking about casting newcomers in Bamfaad, he told Mirror, “We met some experienced actors but eventually zeroed in on them. Shalini has done some films down South but this will be her first Hindi film as the lead. Aditya comes from a film background, both his parents are big names, yet he surrendered himself to my vision completely. We had a one-month workshop before the film went on the floors and Aditya accompanied me on my recee as well. Both are fantastic actors and very involved with the project.”
Revealing the reason behind such an unusual title, he concluded saying, “Bamfaad is a North Indian slang for an explosion and aptly describes these characters and their world.”
In 2016, Aditya had spoken to Mid-Day about being a star kid and facing the pressure. He had told the leading tabloid, “I will not be surprised if there are expectations, but I don’t bother myself with them. I try to enjoy what I do, and do it the best I can — the rest is not in my hands. If anyone is looking for my parents in my work, it’s their lookout. If one wants to watch Paresh Rawal act, they should go watch him — not someone else. That said, there is more interest in my work than there might have otherwise been, for which I consider myself fortunate. However, my work will have to speak for itself, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Reportedly, the makers are yet to zero down on a final release date.
