Pankaj Tripathi has been in the industry for more than a decade. The actor started his film career from 2004 but gained recognition from his breakthrough role in Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012 and since then, he has come a long way. Pankaj is currently one of the finest actors in the industry who has done some notable roles in his career. However, Pankaj who will be seen in Ludo talked about his journey and how outsiders have to work harder in the industry. He feels that an outsider needs to make seven runs in one ball. But he also stated that his journey is proof that industry is not as bad as it is said to be.
Talking about his journey in the film industry, Pankaj reflects that while everyone gets a chance, ‘outsiders’ have to work harder. “When you come to the industry as an outsider, you have to make seven runs in one ball – hit a sixer and then run and take one more. That is the fun of it. Make the most out of the chances you get. The period between 2004 to 2012, I was looking for work, but more importantly, I was working on my craft. Sharpen your tool so much that you are ready. My journey is proof that the film industry is not as bad as it is said to be,” he told Hindustan Times.
Pankaj mostly played negative roles and became synonymous with gangster characters in Mirzapur, Gangs of Wasseypur, Agneepath, Fukrey and many more. In fact, in his upcoming film, he will once again don a gangster character but this time he gets to romance on screen. “Sattu has a sweet little love story, people will not remember him as a gangster once they are done with the film,” Pankaj told the portal.
