Pakistani actress and YouTuber Ayesha Omar enjoys a huge fan following. Being one of the highest-paid actresses in her country, she is also known for her fashion sense. Having made a name for herself in the industry for never mincing her words, she recently opened up about her experience of living in Pakistan and the challenges women face on a daily basis. She also expressed her desire that one day she would like to freely roam on the streets of her country without worrying about harassment.

Revealing that she doesn’t feel safe in her own country, Ayesha spoke to Adnan Fail Podcast about her experiences. From facing harassment at a young age to meeting with a fatal accident in 2015, she shared a lot. She spoke about how it is a basic human need to be able to walk freely outside in the open air. Sharing that public places aren’t safe for women, the actress revealed that men will never be able to understand the circumstances women grow up in. The 42-year-old actress expressed her desire to ride a bike or a cycle and not just sit in her car as she feels unsafe walking on the street. She went on to add how only people with daughters know the fear women have to face in Pakistan. Recalling the time she had faced harassment, she revealed that her neighbour’s cook had tried to touch her inappropriately. She added that even in post areas she feels unsafe. Omar went on to share that the only time she felt safe walking on the streets was during the COVID-19 lockdown.
