Cat is out of the bag! Akshay Kumar has finally revealed what he was talking about since morning.

We guessed that it’s about his next with Reema Kagti and Ritesh Sidhwani but had no idea that it would be a period drama set in London 1948 with 14th Olympics as its backdrop. Read his tweet:

As the poster suggests, the film will be set in 1948 and will reflect the historic story of India's first Olympic medal as a free nation.

Akshay and Reema’s period drama-Gold will release on August 15, 2018. Looks like the month of August and the Independence Day week has become Akshay’s favourite. Rustom also released on Aug 12, 2016 and was super successful at the box office.

Coming back to Reema Kagti and Akshay Kumar’s first time ever association -Gold, the hide and seek started yesterday when Ritesh Sidhwani tweeted about Reema Kagti striking ‘gold’:

And this morning, Akshay Kumar teased everyone with his reply to the tweet:

This will be the first time Akshay and Reema will be working together. Talking about Akshay’s future projects, he has just wrapped up this forthcoming film Jolly LLB 2 which features Huma Qureshi as well.

Apart from this, he has also announced his next with Neeraj Pandey which will be releasing next year in August. Akshay’s Crack will be clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s The Ring. He is also a part of Naam Shabana and was recently shooting for the film in Malaysia. Akshay Kumar, who has a cameo in the film, took to Twitter to post a picture of him along with Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu and producer Neeraj Pandey (Akshay Kumar With Pink Girl Taapsee Pannu In Malaysia, Oct 16)

As far as Reema Kagti is concerned, her last Bollywood outing was the emotional thriller Talash with Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rani Mukerji. The film didn’t perform exceedingly well at the box office.
