The Hindi film industry including Hollywood lost a gem when actor Irrfan Khan passed away last year. The actor breathed his last on April 29 after fighting a long valiant battle against cancer. During the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, late actor Irrfan Khan was honoured. At the event, in the Memorium segment, Irrfan Khan received a special tribute along with Chadwick Boseman and others. Back in 2017, Irrfan Khan was questioned where he would like to keep his Oscar if he were to ever win one. While speaking with Architectural Digest, talking about his new Mumbai apartment, the actor mentioned that if he ever had the honour of winning an Oscar, the prestigious award would ‘find its own place’ in his house. The actor had said, “So many awards mean so little, but that… that is an award that would change everything; it can open up every choice for an actor."
The Slumdog Millionaire actor added, "I know I won't keep it in the bathroom... If it were ever to come, it would come with its own place. It would find its own place." Irrfan joked that he won’t surely keep his Oscar in the bathroom. The actor also mentioned how awards mean so little, but an Oscar is an award that would change everything for an actor.
Meanwhile, Irrfan Khan made his acting debut with the Oscar-nominated film Salaam Bombay. He featured in the film Slumdog Millionaire that won eight out of 10 Academy Awards. The actor also starred in the beautiful film Life of Pi. This movie was nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. It won four, including Best Director for Ang Lee.
