The wait is over. The 89th Academy Awards are here and currently taking place at Dolby Theatre of Los Angeles.

The event is being hosted by Jimmy Kimmel who pulled a fast one at Donald Trump by asking the audience to give a standing ovation to the 'over-rated' Meryl Streep. Justin Timberlake was the first celeb to take the stage and wowed the attendees with his performance.

The first award to be announced was the Best Actor In A Supporting Role and it went to Mahershala Ali for Moonlight.

“It’s not about you, it’s about the characters,” he said in his speech. With this, he becomes the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar.

Indian origin British actor Dev Patel was nominated in the same category for Lion. Dev might have not won the award, but his performance in the Garth Davis film has won hearts all over the world.

Lion is true life story of an Indian child who traces his roots years after being separated from his birth family. Lion is also nominated for Best Picture and we wish all the best to the team!

Coming to Priyanka Chopra – the actress has the knack of nailing all her red carpet appearances and this one was no exception. Priyanka turned up wearing a futuristic Ralph and Russo gown at the red carpet.

Isn’t she stunning?

This will be Priyanka’s second appearance at the Oscars. The Quantico actress made her debut on the Oscars red carpet last year in a Zuhair Murad creation and presented an award with actor Liev Schriber. And boy, right from her gorgeous white ensemble to oodles of confidence, Priyanka nailed it.

To talk of other red carpet appearances, Dev Patel and Sunny Pawar looked dapper in their respective suits. The former brought his mother as his date for the do.

Viola Davis slayed it in red.

Emma Stone, whose film La La Land also featuring Ryan Gosling is expected to sweep most awards, looked gorgeous on the red carpet.

Jackie Chan, Riz Ahmed and Dwayne Johnson also made their presence felt.
