Looks like Padmavati’s trouble are far from abating. The period drama starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor has been embroiled in controversies ever since it went on floors, after which the makers voluntarily deferred the release of the project.

Now, reports suggest that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film has run into trouble yet again, this time for its disclaimer.

According to DNA, the film has run into a dispute with the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) over the disclaimer mentioned in the certification application by the film’s producers.

The CBFC had refused to certify Padmavati as the disclaimer (whether it is based on fiction or historical facts) had not been mentioned by the makers. Now, the new disclaimer has raised questions about how the film is viewed and certified by the CBFC.

The report further states that a Censor clearance on December 18 is expected.

Talking about the release date of the film, an exhibitor informs the leading daily, “There’s been no official intimation from the producers. Whenever they plan to release it, we will be happy to give them the promised number of screens.”

Another source says, “Once the certificate comes, the producers will decide when they want to release Padmavati. As of now, they’re looking at January 5 and January 12.”

Another exhibitor said that the film will only release in February next year as the makers are looking for a vacant spot so that it gets a longer run at the cinemas.

With such different opinions on Padmavati, only time will tell what the future has in store.
