Akshay Kumar
is on a roll with his latest release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and
wife Twinkle Khanna seems to be very happy with husband’s success.
If early
estimates are to be believed, the film has earned Rs 21.50 crore (approx) on
its third day, taking the opening weekend collection to Rs 51.70 cr (approx)
(*official numbers are awaited*)

And with that
good news, Twinkle Khanna took to her Twitter saying, "So even the
box-office needed this Toilet eventually to break free from its
constipation-#ToiletEkPremKath Hit Hit Hooray!"

Is Twinkle
taking a dig at Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's recent failures at ticket
windows by comparing their film’s run at the box-office to ‘constipation’? As
you know, the last two big films released in the last quarter are Salman’s
Tubelight and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. Both bombed at the
box-office.
Salman Khan In Tubelight
Earlier this
year, Akshay Kumar had delivered Jolly LLB 2. Both his films made it to the
list of highest openers so far this year. Jolly LLB 2 was the fifth highest
opener and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has already become the sixth highest opener
this year.
Trade analyst
Taran Adarsh also tweeted yesterday saying, “#ToiletEkPremKatha has pumped
oxygen in the lungs of an ailing film industry… The dry spell at the BO ends
finally! #TEPK."

Being a long
weekend (Today-Janmashthami & Tomorrow-Independence Day), the film is
expected to only grow in the coming days.
Furthermore,
SpotboyE.com broke the news that Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has pocketed a
superb deal of Rs 53 crore (all India distribution rights). The film
has been sold to Viacom for the said amount.
This figure of
Rs 53 crore is an all-time high for Akshay Kumar. The superstar’s Rustom was
sold for Rs 42 crore.
Coming back to
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and its success, Akshay Kumar proves it yet again why he
is the most dependable star in Bollywood.
