With each passing day, the controversy surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Pathaan’ is getting intensified. After BJP leaders and religious activists demanded a ban on the movie, the seers from Ayodhya threatened to kill SRK. As per the latest reports, Ayodhya seer Mahant Paramhans Acharya of Tapasvi Chhavni in a statement said he will burn Shah Rukh alive if he ever meets him. For the unversed, ‘Pathaan’’s first song ‘Besharam Rang’ has raised eyebrows as it showed Deepika Padukone wearing a saffron-coloured bikini in the scene.

As reported by IANS, Mahant Paramhans on Tuesday gave a death threat to the actor alleging the makers of the Yash Raj film have insulted the saffron colour which is associated with the Hindu religion. He was quoted saying, “People of our Sanatan Dharma are protesting continuously regarding this. Today we have burnt the poster of Shah Rukh Khan. If I get to meet the film Jihadi Shah Rukh Khan, I will burn him alive.” He also demanded a ban on the release of Pathaan and threatened to vandalize theatres if the film releases on the big screen. Earlier, the priest of Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya, Mahant Raju Das had protested against Siddharth Anand's directorial. Yesterday, it was reported that an FIR was lodged against Deepika and Shah Rukh in Mumbai in connection to the 'Pathaan' song. As per the police complaint, "religious sentiments of people and intentional use of the colour saffron to offend Hindu religion is promoting vulgarity.” 

‘Pathaan’ which marks SRK’s return to films after 4 years also features John Abraham in a pivotal role. The action thriller will hit the theatres on 25 January 2023.
