Alia Bhatt is currently in the best phase of her life both on the professional and personal front. She is expecting her first child with her actor husband Ranbir Kapoor and is enjoying every bit of it. Alia in a recent interview made a surprising revelation that she has decided to change her surname to ‘Bhatt Kapoor’ for her child. Yes, you read that right! The Raazi actress has taken this decision just because she does not want to feel ‘left out’ after the birth of her kid.
Speaking with Mid-Day, the mom-to-be was asked if she is planning to change her surname from Bhatt to Kapoor. Replying to this, the actress said, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are travelling together; you know what I mean? Alia also revealed why she kept her wedding date a secret. The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress explained that she does not wish to make any announcement because it’s not a public event. “You speculate what the hell you want, it is fine, entertaining. I don’t care. I didn’t want to confirm it. Because you have to understand, I live in a residential building. It was anyway a nightmare [for the neighbours] — poor things, we sent them all hampers…” Alia was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Alia is managing her personal and professional life quite well. She is gearing up for the release of her next film ‘Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva’ with her husband Ranbir. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the fantasy film is slated to hit the theatres on 9 September 2022. The project marks Alia and Ranbir's first onscreen collaboration and needles to say, fans are excited to see their sizzling chemistry on the big screen.
