Ace filmmaker Karan Johar recently received severe backlash on social media after several netizens accused him of sending Alia Bhatt at Met Gala 2023. KJo came at the receiving end after Indian designer Prabal Gurung, shared, he met Alia for the first time at Karan’s star-studded 40th birthday party. Prabal’s revelation left internet wondering if Karan favoured Alia and sent her at the prestigious fashion gala.
Now, the director has taken an indirect jibe at trolls targeting him for the same. Taking to his Instagram story, he shared a cryptic note that read, “Dear Opinion I know you work 365 days a year ..relentlessly … but my request is for you take Sundays off…Exhaustingly yours, Receiving end.” ALSO READ: WHAT! Karan faced heavy criticism after Prabal Gurung posted his picture with Bhatt from the fashion event and wrote in the caption, “It was my dearest friend Karan Johar’s 40th birthday in Mumbai, where I first met Alia. I had heard rave reviews about her through him and my brother Pravesh, who was assisting Karan in her debut film. I was immediately taken by her when I met her.” His post further read, “A petite ingénue whose simmering fire within her was palpable to all of us. One film after another, she has surpassed anyone’s expectations and thrilled us with her creative genius. She’s a powerhouse performer. To me, she is one of the finest actors we have right now globally, but above all, she’s a friend, a good friend, and a loyal one; that’s what makes her extremely special.”
This is not the first time when Johar has got trolled, he repeatedly gets slammed for promoting nepotism. Meanwhile, Alia made her impressive debut at the Met Gala 2023, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She made heads turn in flowing white gown made with 100,000 pearls and it featured a skirt bottom that flowed into a long trail.
